Project Scheduler / Project Support Officer

Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Project Scheduler / Project Support Officer to support the successful delivery of complex projects. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining project schedules, balancing resources, tracking milestone progress, and providing high-level administrative support to the Project Manager and Contract Manager.

You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time and in line with agreed frameworks by supporting reporting, risk and issue management, and maintaining core project documentation throughout the lifecycle.

This is a full-time, Canberra-based position within a leading international IT solutions environment that values collaboration, professionalism, and its people.

Security Requirement:

  • Baseline Security Clearance required
  • Australian Citizenship is essential


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are achieved
  • Monitor schedule performance, identify delays, and escalate risks in line with agreed timeframes
  • Support project planning, including resource allocation and coordination across teams
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including plans, reports, and meeting minutes
  • Assist in the delivery and monitoring of project activities, including program and risk reporting
  • Maintain registers for risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and decisions
  • Coordinate project meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and documentation of outcomes
  • Provide general administrative support, including invoicing, diary management, and team coordination


Skills & Experience

  • Experience in project management methodologies (Agile, PRINCE2, PMBOK)
  • Relevant qualifications in Project Management or related discipline (Diploma or higher desirable)
  • Demonstrated experience in project scheduling and contract schedule management
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Project, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Experience within Government or Defence environments is highly regarded
